Antenna Theater has created a performance event entitled
.:. sands .:. of .:. time .:.
, ...a
1300-foot-long
timeline raked into the sand along a beach. It has been produced at Rodeo
Beach (Marin County), Ocean Beach (San Francisco), Santa Monica Beach and the
13.7B 1999 Burning Man Festival. The audience walks through an enormous
Zen Garden of time which tells the unfolding story of the universe from the Big
Bang to the present day, with cosmological events, (the birth of the sun, the
formation of the earth, the explosion of stars), sculpted out of sand.
Audience members wear headphones and listen to a complex, often humorous
soundtrack of music, voices, and sound effects as they walk through this
gigantic beach sculpture. .:. sands .:. of .:. time .:.
